Hi I have just stopped breastfeeding after 5.5 months, and desparately need some new bra's - I hated the maternity ones. I have just been measured in M&S and my cup size is still a couple of sizes bigger than it was pre-pregnancy (DD before, G now!). My question is how long do your boobs take to get back to normal? The rest of me is pretty much as was (bit flabbier ) but I don't want to waste too muuch money on the current size if they will go back soon. Cheers Andrea
I don't think they do go back to normal tbh... Mine stayed a full cup size bigger.. which considering I was an A cup before I had Tia and then went to a c cup when I was bfing then it went down to a b cup... It's been a bonus really
It varies from person to person. I'd leave it about a month before you spend any money on new bras though......
Me too! Yay Another bonus of BF no-one told me about. I love having a bit of boobage and was worried they were going to shrivel up when I stop
Crikey! They weren't exactly small to start off with - I'm into specialist bra territory at the moment - most cheap places only seem to go to an F cup. I'll give it a month and see if I shrink into the F cup I bought yesterday!
Mine started at 34DD, went up to 36E when I was pregnant but were back down at 34DD by the time Austin was a couple of months old. I'm still breastfeeding now and they're still 34DD but are now saggy and covered in stretchmarks
I must be really unlucky then, i stared out a 34c and ended up at 34 a all saggy and covered in strech marks I hate my boobs, except when im PG and they grow again.
im still BFing (but less now as shes on 3 meals a day too) i was 32B before pregnancy 34DD by 3rd trimester 32E just after the birth 32DD for first month or two 32D for another month or so im 32C now!
I am hoping mine shrink. I was 32F/G before pregnant, now wearing a 34L and my boobs are spilling out of this bra but the cup size is as big as they make. When my milk fills it's soooo uncomortable. I started feeling hard lumps the other day and know mastitis can be caused by tight bra, but what else can I do? If it gets so bad, I may have to consider bottle feeding... I am already expressing some to stop engorgment but couple of times milk has not filled for baby when she needed feeding and she won't take the bottle of expressed milk yet to top her up. I'll keep trying the bottle that may be a solution to the huge mammaries problem!! If they don;t shrink, I am seriously considering a reduction, although I always said I'd pop a couple of kiddies first so I could breast feed both. Imogen is my first and I may consider another in a couple of years... dilemma of whether to hold out a few more years or have an op to be comortable and then bottle feed possible 2nd one! BF xx
