threads in tri 2 before I move over to tri 3 next week but needed to ask you girlies a question.

What on earth do Braxton Hicks REALLY feel like?

The bump has been getting quite hard and "heavy" for about a week or so now in particular, but today on the otherhand, it would appear that bump is "hardening"/"tightening" and then "relaxing" a bit rather than remaining hard for any "length" of time.

Any ideas? IS it Braxton Hicks? I'm sure there are a few others out there who would like to know but apologies in advance as I am sure there are many threads like this already in the forum somewhere...

For me what happens is bump gets really tight and hard to the touch for about a minute (sometimes longer) and then goes soft again. They're not painful for me. Does sound like that's what they might be x

My bump goes hard at the top and I do get a bit of pain spreading downwards. It takes my breath away sometimes but soon passes with a walk.

yeah my bump gets quite hard and a bit sore alot now but I think that it is just braxton hicks I cant remember what they felt like last time to be honest but im sure that this is what they feel like, im sure that a few other girls will write on here as they will be having them too, but I think that about week 25ish is when you start getting them xx

Didn't get them with my first two , but my last pregnancy , I got them alot from 20o weeks till the end.

didn't hurt at all, little unconfortable sometimes, but like Laceys Mummy says, when your bump goes hard , you feel really taught and tight tummy wise and it will last about a min or so and then it will relax and go soft again.

The difference is these will be random and have no regular or increasing pattern like normal contractions, and from what you describe, you are having braxton hicks. Doesn;t mean your going to go in labour early, I had them at 20 weeks , lots and then all the way till section at 38 weeks, no sign of labour X
