So I was due last Friday, just been for sweep but midwife couldn't do it as my cervix wasn't facing the right way. Have now got to wait for a phonecall on Friday which will book me in for induction.

Really don't want to be induced as might not be able to use birthing pool and I wanted to do it all naturally. Just want bean to come of their own accord and worry what if they book me in for induction and then he/she might have arrived the next day of their own accord.

Midwife said poking around down there could have started things off anyway even though she couldn't do a proper sweep.

So wondering ladies who have popped already, have you any success stories of sweeps with a posterior cervix which actually worked anyway. How soon after did you go into labour and do you think it was the "non" sweep that did it or do you think you would have anyway. Thanks xx.

I've not popped yet but the midwife did mention at my sweep yesterday that the cervix is still posteria, but she did say that it doesn't really matter and shes done them on people who have gone straight into labour and others with a really favourable cervix that didn't work at all.

However saying that I've not gone into labour yet...

thanks Hemera thats really good to know. Nice to know there is a wee bit of hope that it could all start naturally. Feeling no different since my sweep, have you had any signs at all or just feel the same? Wonder how long it would take my cervix to turn if its going to? good luck xx

I just feel the same atm - slightly achy and seem to get crampy at night but nothing a good fart can't sort out :D

Are you able to refuse induction at all? or delay it for a few days at least?

When I had my sweep my cervix was far back and the mw struggled to reach it and classed it as unsuccessful-that was fri dinner,I started losing specks of old blood (as expected) then lost my plug that evening-followed by more sat morning, was having cramps by tea time and lo was born 5:30am Sunday :) xx
