periods after breastfeeding

can anyone tell me......

ive breast fed james for 6 months and have just cut his feeds down to morning and night only.
i know that i should be expecting a period now that im not feeding as often and ive had some cracking pains.... but it hasnt arrived yet!!!

when should i expect it?

it will be my first since august 2004.... so im expecting a corker!!!

i think when you stop breatfeeding completely, or reduce the breast feeds then you will have a period. Lucky you thou going all this time without them!! bet youve missed them!!!!!! lol maybe not!!

i didn't breastfeed but it took over eight weeks for my period to come back. i know that breastfeeding can prolong this so i wouldn't necessarily expect to come anytime soon. maybe once your milk starts to dry up and your homones start settling. try not to worry and enjoy it while it lasts!!

Have read it's when you cut out feeding altogether or with hardly any feeds and it can take a couple of months after you stop or cut back.
