Pcos and breastfeeding

Hi ladies,

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with breastfeeding and pcos? I was googling tonight about BFing generally and came across lots of articles suggesting ladies with pcos might not produce much milk due to the type of breast tissue. I fall into this category

Had a bit of a meltdown about it tonight and DH got a bit mad/frustrated with me about it and I got told off for googling! It's made me feel very down and like a failure before ive even tried! I'm due next week and was really excited to give BFing a go but the fact it might not work for this reason as well as all the usual worries has put a dampener on it for me.

So any success stories?! Xx

I have PCOS and my milk took 4 looooong days to come in with both my babies. I topped up with formula. No idea if that was due to PCOS or not.

I had incredible pain though that never went away so only managed 3 wks with each baby

I'm the same and my other half also tells me off lol. Try not to worry and have a chat with your midwife. Other than that all you can do is ur best and you can always breast feed then top up with formula xx

I have pcos and my problem was the opposite; too much milk. I was just a fountain of boob juice. I wasn't able to keep it up for more than three/four weeks as my son fed hourly and I was exhausted, but this was nothing to do with PCOS. I've never heard of it being a problem with PCOS at all, step away from Google xxxx
