I've got it along with hip and back pain and the doctor referred me to a physio, I think you should tell your mid wife or doctor, maybe they will do the same thing.
i have been getting this for about 3 weeks now, its so painful specially on a night time. Its agony when i have been sat down for a while then get up to walk. I was wpndering what it was too. I was going to ask on here put didnt know how to explain it and didnt want to look stupid
hey ladies... it sounds very much like spd...(Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction).
heres a link for you hope it helps.
im sure there are a dew women on here that can give help you out. i personally never had it but my mum did a few years back. xxxx
I have it and its agony, can't even offer any advice really but try not to stand on one leg too much, so sit down to put your clothes on and sit on the car seat first and swing legs round into the car.
It definitely sounds like SPD to me...i'd mention it to your midwife as you can get a refferal to a physio they should offer you a support belt to help with the pain
I have it and its agony... sometimes it feels like the whole area is not only very badly bruised but on fire when i walk my OH helps me getting in and out of bed/cars and on/off the sofa when its at its worst.
My advice is rest as much as possible and keep your legs together!!! As Cixes says swing your legs round together to get out of the car.. same for bed. Birthing balls are supposed to help... and have a warm (not hot) bath to help ease some of the pain.
thanx for the link and replies. its gonna be hard remembering all the things not to do, when it comes naturally for me, this pregnancy is so different everything has been thrown in. oh well the end is near.
