Hi Everyone!
Mhairi is 3 weeks old, she was weighed this morning and is now 8lbs 1oz, so she is going in the right direction!

My question is -

She very rarely DOESN'T have a dirty nappy. Every one seems to have poo in it.

She seems to be in pain when she has a bowel movement, although her poo is not hard (it's like mustard, and is quite runny, sorry if TMI!!).

She goes bright red, draws her legs up and sometimes screams just right before she poos. She can also sometimes seem really cranky and won't settle and then she poos and is fine.

Any ideas on what it could be and what I should do?

When they are first born you get loads of poopy nappies I'm afraid.

Arianna was the same with the red face and squeels, and the doctor told us it was just her getting used to using her body parts (if that makes sense!)

If you are still worrried tho speak to your HV.

Ooops! Forgot to say that Mhairi is bottle fed on Aptamil!
