Have woken up with a shockingly painful breat, it is all lumpy and hot - I think I have got mastitis . Have made an appointment to see nurse at surgery, tried hot compresses and a bath but nothing is helping. Have been feeding Seren off it but it is so incredibly painful I have to give up after a while, it is upsetting her as she is picking up on my upset. Am really down about this, have a problematic relationship with breastfeeding as it is, and was just starting to get the hang of it all. Nothing seems to be going right at the moment, just feel sorry for myself

Have you had a shower? Massage the lumps in why shower or while she's feeding.

don't worry i had mastitis after 5 weeks of ok feeding. keep expressing and feeding off that breast - doc should give you antibitics at least you've caught it early that will help!
