So, I understand ovulation happens and today I'm on my final day of my most fertile time and my glow app told me I was ovulating today.....sounds strange but is there a certain time you ovulate? Or is there an amount of time the egg hangs around waiting for sperm to turn up? I know this question sounds odd and there's probably no definitive answer but any insight would be helpfull.....I'm hoping we'll dtd tonight as we've not since before my last period, we been arguing recently so it's been off the cards but we're good again now

As Rosie said, once released the egg only lives for 24hrs. It all depends on how long your cycle is when abouta you'll ovulate. For example, people with an average 28 day cycle generally ovulate around day 14. I have a 26-28 day cycle and ovulate anywhere between day 12 and day 15. Ideally you should be having sex regularly throughout the month from when your period finishes. You would be best buying some cheap ovulation tests from eBay or Amazon and testing regularly with them to give you an idea of when you get a positive and your surge. Once you get that you generally ovulate between 12-36 hrs after. Hope that helps xx
