OPK question

Hi,

I am new to all this and I have a few questions.

Firstly is £5.50 for 30 OPK's (20mui) a good deal?

How do I use them? Do I POAS when I am about to Ov? Or for a week before?

If I get positive readings do I BD straight away.

I am loathe to get any more militant about TTC but I need something to happen.

I am getting a real feeling of panic about it now

Yes that sounds like a good price to me. Did you get them on Amazon?

Basically you go by your cycle, and start POAS around the middle of your cycle. The instructions that the OPK come with will give you the exact day. To be honest i would try and do them for a few days before and after as I am a 25 day cycle but I don't get a postive OPK until day 11/12 and i should really be before that so keep going with them. Also for the first month i tried i did not get a postive OPK so dpnt worry if that happens, you have to keep going at it until your know your body. I really though that I was not ovulating but in reality I was just doing them a little bit too early.

Once you get a postive reading then you DTD for the next 2-3 days as that is when you are most fertile.

I cannot be more exact about what day you start POAS as I don't now what your cycle is but the instructions are really clear.

Same hun, haha. I don't think my OH would be too impressed if I jumped on him like 'we MUST dtd as I have a pink line on a pee-stick' haha! He knows I am doing the OPK's but think I am going to keep the positive days to myself, at least try to keep some of the magic about it! Good luck hun

I've got the amazon ones too, I think I paid £7.50 for 50 sticks or something. Bought the same HPT's too, what a bargain! At least I won't feel too depressed at another BFN when I've only paid 25p for the test, haha x

I only got 30 this month and I'll see how I got on.

Also got the very cheap HPT (18p a pop LOL) and a few CB digi's too!

Now I am just counting down to Friday 13th when my fertile time is due to start. I will start POAS a few days before that.

What days do ladies that use OPK's start POAS?

I got OPKs for the first time this month. I usually OV between 13-15 CD. So I have started using OPKs once a day from 12CD - will do it until my temp rises.

We used the same OPK's through November and managed to get our BFP.... I didn't ovulate until day 19 though and it was a bit of a relief because I was begining to convince myself that I wasn't ovulating. Keep dipping until the test line is as strong as the control line then BD for the next few days.

My OH found it really difficult though, as he felt under so much pressure to get me pregnant, bless him.... so if you can keep it to yourself it may be best.... Hubby said to me that with the benifit of hindsight he would have preferred not to know.

I know I ovulate as I have been pregnant 3 times between May 2011 - October 2011 BUT I just want to a be a bit more precise as quite honestly I ain't getting any younger (also I am seeing a specialist this week so hope the next BFP will be our sticky bean!)

OH never turns me down but I think I am quite demanding around Ov time LOL! The rest of the month I am a lot more relaxed. If POAS for a few days a month is going to make me even more militant I am not sure how that will go down
