Dont know if this affects england, wales and Ireland but in Scotland the councils are on strike tomorrow. I work there are I have been told that if I dont go in my maternity pay will be affected. Im not in a union but the other girl that is in the union has been told the same.
Im not going in though. I thought I would have a safe job with the council and it seems to not be the case. :(

That's really bad Laura. Do they mean it will be affected by loads, or just a bit?? I know that at my company, the 90% that I'll get for the first 6 weeks is worked out on the last few weeks wages. So, if I went on strike and didn't get paid for a day, it would bring that amount down, but only slightly.

Hi Tankett,
I thought it was only the last few weeks but they say its counted from the last 2 monthly pays, that you get 15 weeks before your due date.
Im not amused especially as I had to find this out from the dwp.
Laura
