Born on Sunday the 13th of January (41 weeks exactly) at 8.57PM after a 3 and a half hour labour.
I got to the hospital around 5 o'clock with contractions every 3-4 minutes and got into the birthing pool probably around 7, with gas and air from about an hour after that which was useless and just made me struggle to stay awake between contractions without doing anything for the pain.
The midwives were really lovely and it was a nice relaxed atmosphere with dim lights and a disco ball! He weighed just over 9 pounds and my OH cut the cord - I delivered the placenta 10 minutes later still in the pool and din't need any stitches although I had a small 2nd degree tear.
