Just wondering how many of you have had or will be having a nuchal scan and if you've had anything done before this? I'm having one at 12 weeks and blood tests done before but just wondered if this is the norm?
Sorry to be a paranoid pain!

Absolutely the norm nowadays. I had mine at twelve weeks and it was magical. Its just so they can check the fluid at the back of the baby's neck, its a good indicator for downs syndrome, and nothing to be worried about - my advice is, look forward to it. Its the first time you'll see your little bubba and its very emotional!!! Good luck xx

I decided not to have one - the test only gives an indication of risk, not a diagnosis. I knew I wouldn't have an abortion if there were no abnormalities, so I didn't have any tests. I think the key is to think hard and do what's right for you - that may be having a test; it may not. Have tests because you want them - not because you feel it's what you have to do.
