not sure how much longer i can take

Aww

I know how you feel. I've been diagnosed with SPD - have my first physio appointment this week, and so far it's been mild and bearable most of the time. However, today I am in agony and wincing whenever I get up off my bottom to walk!

Try to have plenty of rest if you can, and maybe try to set off earlier so that you allow yourself time to go at a steady pace, and stop for a break on the way.

Awww hun

I know how you feel! I have to walk Amber to Nursery three days a week as I don't drive, and it's a 35 minute walk from my house! She starts at 1pm so I leave at 12.20pm, then walk all the way home after dropping her off... I'm indoors for just under an 1.5hours then I have to leave again at 3pm to go and get her! I'm so glad she only goes three days as I could not do that every day, it's really wearing me out now and if I walk to fast I get a really bad pain in the bottom of my stomach and my legs absolutely kill.

I agree with what Shinymac said, if you can leave a bit earlier, then do, so you can take your time walking and not have to rush. Then you could also stop for a few minutes just to have a little rest when you're halfway there, that might help.

Sorry to hear you are suffering Anna, hope the next 10 weeks dont drag too much for you!

Sorry to gatecrash but jsut thought id pass on some tips from my physio as sounds liek yo might have a bit of PGP (Pelviv Girdle Pain) - ive been diagnosed with PGP plus i've got a muscle in my back gone into spasm (ouch!) its like a rick and hurts constantly!. Physio given my a support thing to wear under my bump!

Take shorter steps when walking (this has almost cured my aching when walking but admitidly takes longer to get anywhere!)

Keep your knees together when getting in and out of the car, eg swival bum on chair and put both feet on the ground at some time to get up.

Rest if you can when uncomfortable as 'walking it off' doesnt work.

Dont walk sideways, walk around things instead.

If you do get diognosed with PGP by a physio they will also tell you to tell your midwife that you need a 'red pillowcase' to take into the hospital with you so the staff know you can only open your legs so far, you can measure up to see what is comfortable for you.

Cant remember what else as all my info is at home but the shorter steps really helps. I stride a lot when i am walking so might have been why it was messing up my pelvis so much and getting such bad pains under my belly. Hope you feel better soon - if bad see your doc and they might refer you to physio at the hospital - my physio though was 8 weeks wait! SO i paid £45 for a consultation at a private hospital and that included the support she gave me. You dont need to be referred to the private one you can just ring and book when you like. Make sure they are a member of the ACPWH I emailed the people on this site and they gave me details of all those in my area, they are expert physios in womans health who know what they are doing as not all physios will see you so late on in pregnancy. Good luck! xxxx
