Just wanted to pop my head in! My beautiful daughter Ella Sophia arrived on 2nd April at 35+5. After spending 11 long days in scbu she was allowed home yesterday :) At some point I want to write down what our time in scbu was like but for now I'll just say hi x

Congratulations and well done on getting your little one home after 11 days!!

Hello hunny,
So glad your home with your baby, i know exactly what it would have been like for you chickxxxx

aw congrats, what weight was she when she was bron well done on 11 days we were 7 weeks :( and still have regulat checks very ragular xx

Ella was 5lbs 9 when she was born. She's lost a bit of weight and is now about 5lbs 6. We've had some milk
/feeding issues but I'm hoping we are back on track now - we are going back to hospital tomorrow and I'm fairly confident that Ella will have at the v least maintained her weight, if not gained some - fingers crossed!

I can't imagine how it must feel to have a baby in hospital for weeks - 11 days felt like an eternity!

How long did it take you to get your little ones back to birth weight? They reckon it should be 14 days but I'm not convinced we will be back up to that yet x

Ellie was 4lb 5oz when we took her home at 7 weeks so it took her 7 weeks to get just over her birth weight. But ellie was very poorly and for a week only got 0.5ml og milk every 2 hours

just wait til you get told wht they expect of a baby? Ellie is almost 6 month and is only 12lbs x

hey chick
It took ben around 11 days to get back to his birth weight, he was born 4lb 3oz, went down to 3lb something and hes now 9lb 13oz!!!!!!!!xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My twins were born at 37 weeks, they weighed 5,5 and 5,9. It took them just under two weeks to get back to birth weight xx

Hi

Alana was 3lb 4.5oz when she was born at 34 weeks. She went down to just under 3lb but got back up to her birth weight at around 2 weeks I think. She was discharged from hospital after almost 4 weeks weighing 3lb 13.5oz.

OMG she must have been tiny when she got home!!!! x

We've just been back to the hospital to have Ella weighed. She was 5lbs 9 at birth and had dropped down to 5lbs 6 when she was weighed on thu. Today she was 5 lbs 10.5 so she has gained 4.5ozs in three days and gone above her birth weight :-) don't have to go back to hospital again either :-)

Claire - it sounds as though Ellie was v poorly but doing well now

Don-don - bens weight has really shot up then!

Cosmic girl - those are v good weights for twins!

Kizzy - Alana sounds tiny! I love the name by the way - one of our serious contenders!

Brooke was born at 33wk + 4 and weighed 4lb 10oz at birth, she spent 2wks in scbu, its horrible having them in there but great to take them home, by the time brooke was ment to be due she weighed. 7lb 8oz :) x

Ella was born at 36 weeks and weighed 4lb 12oz. She spent 9 days in scbu which I found pretty traumatic and still feel sad about now when I think back to having been separated from her every night. I found myself being extra protective and still at 7 months have yet to leave her with even a family member to babysit. Am getting there though and at least she came home from hospitl unlike some poor babies.

aw it is hard to leave them in the hospital I went home day 4 as I had Mia at home and we got Ellie home 7 weeks after that and having to leave her every night was so emotional, if anyone was coming out the hospital with a new baby going home I had to wait in the car til they had gone before getting out and going in the hospital, I must admit I am not as protective as I thought I would be!!!

It is awful isnt it!!! My experience sounds slightly different to you guys, i actually stayed in the hospital with Benjamin for the two weeks, a horrible experience none the less!!! I made some lovely friends though, and one of my friends has just got her baby home now, he was born in January weighing 1lb!!!!! I'm sooo happy for her, and we are hopefully meeting soon with our LO;s!!! xxxxxxxxx
