In a bit of a dilemma... Ive been offered a job starting the 8th feb (not with the company i work for now) and as we are ttc I'm looking at the finances once little peanut is born.. Ive worked for the same company since my third year in uni *although that year was a paid internship* with my 1st i didn't qualify for smp but with my other two i did along with the companies maternity package.

If I was to move to this new job would I qualify for smp if we have been lucky enough to conceive this month also would i qualify if we were to conceive in feb *this is our first official month of ttc and I'm not expecting a bfp anytime soon but sods law it'll happen!

i tried looking on the gov website but it keeps saying page can not be displayed so thought id try here

thank you :D

As long as you have worked for your employer continuously for at least 26 weeks up to the ‘qualifying week’ - the 15th week before the expected week of childbirth - then you are entitled to SMP. https://www.gov.uk/maternity-pay-leave/eligibility :)

Do you really want the job? If so then go for it as you can't predict pregnancy at all.
