Need advice

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant according to my last date but my ultrasound yesterday at 6+2 shows only a gestational sac of 9.2mm (which they say is less than 4 weeks) with no fetal pole or yolk sac). It also shows minor/ negligible choriodecidual bleeding of 1.3cc. the doctors have called for an ultrasound again after 2.5weeks and has put me on duphaston 10mg (twice a day ) and susten 200mg (twice a day). I have no vaginal bleeding yet. Thedoc says its 50-50%chance. My HCG levels yesterday was 15000mIU/ml. I am really worried and scared. Can anybody guide?

I'm sorry you're going through this Ankita. I don't know what that medication is but in general terms I'm afraid it could go either way.

I had a similar situation in August although I had some bleeding. That started at 5.5 weeks, I went for a scan and it showed a sac measuring 4.5 weeks with no fetal pole or yolk sac. I was also told 50/50 and had to go back one week later and then another week later to be rescanned and unfortunately it never developed, I then miscarried at 8 weeks, I was still getting strong positive pregnancy tests at that stage although didn't have hcg tested.

However, there are also lots of stories from other women who have had similar to you and at the next scan everything is fine and baby has caught up. Are you 100% sure of your ovulation date?

Unfortunately all you can do at this stage is wait and see. It's absolutely horrible to go through, I feel for you and wish you the very best.

Thank you so much for your kind wishes. I am not sure of the ovulation date. It is really painful emotionally to go through this.

It's terribly painful. If you're not sure of your ovulation date then you can be even more hopeful as at this early stage even being a few days out can make a big difference. I was completely sure of mine so knew there was really no hope.
