moses basket mattress

my moses basket has recently arrived and i am bit worried about the mattress which came with it. there seems to be a bit of a gap around the mattress and the edge of the basket. is this normal/safe?

there is a small gap in mine hun its filled once you put bedding on it x

I found Lexi's mosses basket mattress a waste of time, in the end i went out and bought another that was alot thicker and fit it properly x x
