Saw the midwife today and asked about my dates which ive never been very sure of.

Basically initially it was thought to be 5th December(based on a scan i had at 8 wks 6days) and then at my 12 weeks scan they gave me an extra couple of days taking me to 1st December.
At the 21 week scan most of my measurements were 21+4 or 5 Which would give me a date of approx 25/26 November.

Midwife said that my official date would not change. The midwives dnt go on call for you in Forth VAlley until 38 weeks which is 21st November.

I went 2 weeks early with Cameron, im worriesd that if the scan dates are right i will go at 37 weeks by there reckoning and ill have to go to hospital.
I dont understand why they dont a) go with scan dates or b) e on call from 37 weeks which is officially full term.

Any ideas what to do or should i just cross everything especilly my legs till midwives are on call.

My dates were different on my scans too hun! Its odd isnt it?! I guess its just as they say its not exactly anyways but when it means you may not get your midwife to come to you, then each day makes a difference!?
I would still plan for the homebirth hun and fingerscrossed you wont be early!
Also Im sure if you go early then they will come even though they say they wont!? I couldnt see them leaving you to do it all by yourself!?
Also, maybe your last one was more ahead on scan dates too but they didnt say?

I think the reason the official dates don't change is because dating is quite accurate up to 2nd tri but then babies grow at different rates. My 3rd daughter was 10lb when she was born - quite a large lump!! So although my dating scan gave us the due date, she was already a couple of weeks ahead of that sizewise by the 2nd scan. The dates were accurate, she was just grew a bit quick!

So the good news is that you will prob be fine to keep going by your original due date and you'll prob get your homebirth, which I thoroughly recommend by the way. Bad news is that LO may be a bit larger, tho if you go 2 weeks early again then guess that'll help!!

Also, remember there is no guarantee you'll be early again i'm afraid!
