Hi all
I recently found out that my twins are MCDA I am coming up to 12 weeks. I have had previous problems in pregnancy, my daughter was stillborn due to a placental abruption, that wasn't my first abruption, my little boy survived a placental abruption so I have always been classed as high risk while pregnant. I am not sure what the twins sharing a placenta means at the moment I have a detailed scan in foetal medicine this Thursday to find out more. I have been told that I will be very closely monitored but the babies will have to be born between 32 and 34 weeks.

xx

it means that they will both be nourished by it, but fetal medicine really to pay close attention to mcma and mcda twins. They'll check that the placenta is adequately oxygenating each twin and regular scanning will monitor their growth etc.
