So ladies,

I’m coming up to 15 weeks pregnant. Pre pregnancy I was always blessed to be slim with a big-ish chest for my frame (dd/e).
Now I’m pregnant they are huge. My family make a joke of it all the time. I don’t mind (but my back does hurt now) but I’m very worried in this pregnancy and keep putting off buying things incase I “jinx” myself and something goes wrong. (I know..my bf tells me I’m being silly everyday). I am venturing out over the weekend to buy some more comfy clothes so will buy new underwear.

So is a maternity bra good or should I buy regular stuff and go up a few sizes?

I wouldn't invest in a maternity bra yet as your breasts could still grow. I got maternity bras a few weeks before the due date. If you buy some now and find out they are too small later on, you will have to throw them away.

ooh so I was under the impression you could grow abit with maternity ones.
Thanks!

My boobs didn't grown massively in pregnancy. At around your stage I just went up a cup size or 2 in regular bras. Bought a few in the sale so really didn't spend much at all. I then wore maternity bras once the underwires started to feel uncomfortable. One tip is if you're even possibly considering breastfeeding, buy nursing bras instead of maternity ones as they're basically the same but with the clips for feeding.

Not sure if this is helpful but I'm petite build size 6/8 normally C cup. Breastfed exclusively. I would say I increased by one back size and 1-2 cup sizes. No idea how that compares to others.

I used a back extender until I couldn't cope with underwire anymore. Probably not the best as I'm sure it didn't fit properly but I was comfortable. I'm a J cup and quite simply couldn't afford £30 a pop at bravissimo each time!!

I got bra extenders to keep me going through the pregnancy, just extends the back of your bra a couple of sizes which means it fits better. I got them for a few pound on amazon I think. I just wanted to wait until size settled down a bit (they grew a lot after 15 weeks btw!). I'm looking at getting maternity bras now that hopefully size will have settled and I'm coming up to the end now.

I have a quite slender back and haven’t gained any size on it yet. So a back extender wouldn’t really work for me as it’s my cup size that’s increased I estimate by 1-2 sizes!

I do tend to put weight on my boobs if I gain any when I’m not pregnant so I suppose I should wait another month to see what they are going to do!

Increasing back size will give you extra room in the cups! I haven't really increased in my back size either, it's mainly cup size went up by like 2 sizes I think. It might not be the perfect ideal fit, but can make your normal bras last a bit longer if you don't want to go out and buy new ones just yet.

I bought a bravado bra. Its stretchy so its adapting quite well. I started as a 30DD/E before pregnancy and bought a size M and I have gained several back sizes as the baby has really expanded within my rib cage. I expect after birth my back size might go back down a bit so I'll have room even if the cup size goes up. I was skeptical at first as I normally have to pay loads for bras that fit from specialist shops but I have been really impressed with these!

I am still in my normal bras but have bought some wire-less ones for afterwards. I would say use normal for as long as possible

Your breasts will grow during pregnancy, and soon, your old bras will no longer fit. There are options: Extension bras add length to your current bras, and maternity bras provide extra support with wide straps and padded padding. Your best bet is to buy a few goods, supportive but comfortable bras. If underwire bras and synthetic materials make your tender breasts and sore nipples worse, buy a few soft, structured cotton bras with no seams near the nipple. A transparent lingerie as maternity bras have extra hooks and often provides support and structure without using underwire.
