before getting pg, I was a ff-g cup size.

I haven't gone up that much now, but bras don't fit well anymore.

I always wear an underwired bra, but remember reading somewhere that at a certain point in pg, you should stop, something to do with damaging milk ducts or glands??

Need to go shopping for new bras asap, is it too early for maternity bras?

Hey Twilly... I bought maternity bras at 5 weeks. :) My underwire ones where so unconfidable.... These new ones are great... Although my boobs are not as perky due to the lack of wire. :-(

Also had read about wired ones causing milk duct issues but did not know when to change so decided to do it from the beginning. :)

got mine fitted at mothercase. the material is so nice and soft too which is good on senitive nipple days.

I was gonna start a thread about this, was wondering when the best time to start wearing non-wired bras cos I'd heard the milk duct thing too :oooo: x

I bought some nursing/maternity bras from JoJo Maman a few weeks ago but to be honest they were pretty hideous on so I'm going to keep those for when I'm bf. I've just ordered a load of non-underwired bras from Freemans which look much nicer!

I was just thinking the same thing, my bras have become very uncomfortable even though I don't think I've changed size, was thinking of going shopping today for some. Maternity bras seem quite expensive as well, might see if I can find some cheapies without wire for now, dont want to keep forking out a fortune if I grow!

I got mine at 5 weeks as I found under-wire too uncomfortable, the soft cup non wired aren't very sexy but soooo much more comfortable. I got a 2 pack from M&S for £25 so I thought that was quite good value xxx

The lady at Mothercare said that there was some room left in the bra for when I get bigger. Think it is good idea to get sized by someone who knows about this sort of thing. :)

Unfortunately Confort is more important then look for me at the moment. :)

does anyone know how big your boobs are likely to grow?? i mean is the average a few cup sizes or not that much? im a double D so just wondering what to expect?? xxx

Think it's totally different for everyone hun. I only went from a 32B to a 34C last time.

hmm, i know i'm going to get massive bazukas!!! lucky you DW! xxxx

Well I'm back from the bra shopping, maternity bras are so ugly and why can't they just do packs of the same colour? I got a 2 pack in m&s but doubt I'll wear the white one! Least they are nice and comfy!

I have a feeling mine are gonna get huge  they are a D -DD at the moment but I envisage over-shoulder-boulder-holders being purchased - nice

yes i have been wondering this. My boobs are sooo sore, i have not wore a bra for about 2 weeks now! Had to wear a sports top thingy.... Really dont want to buy maternity bras in case i go huge!! (and i have not seen ANY nice ones!!)

good thread!

I got mine from Freemans today, they look ok but are soooooooo lovely and comfy!!

I take it all back, they are comfy but I always wear padded bras (hate getting pointy nips when I'm cold, which is loads in our office) and these are not padded - I feel too naked and wrong. So, I'm going to send these back and see if I can get some padded, non underwire bras from M&S after work!! LOL. They have them online so I'm going into my local one, jsut praying they have them!!

They didn't have any padded maternity ones in m&s yesterday just plain, prob like you have got! I got one padded one from mothercare which is my fav one but cost about £20 so can't really afford lots of these! Tried on loads of non maternity bras but I'm sooooo sensitive that normal bras are just too scratchy! Looks like ugly or expensive bras win for now!

Guys, I just do not know what to do.
As I said I am a 36-ff or 34-g depending on style, I haven't increased that much since being pg, but bras don't fit well anymore. If I wear a bra without wire, i'll probably just end up with chaffed knees as well as everything else.
I'm wondering if it really does affect the milk?
I tried not wearing a bra yesterday evening and I looked and felt like a heffalump.
Going shopping on Friday, just hope I can sort out what to do for the best by then.

I've heard that it won't affect the milk ducts til much later on, it's how uncomfortable I've been that has been more of an issue. Have you tried a sports bra? I've been wearing mine, not flattering but comfy!

I got some really nice t-shirt padded non-underwired bras from M&S yesterday. The cups are HUGE so even though my boobs aren't very big (I'm currently between a 32B and 34C) I can imagine that these would be VERY supportive for the bigger breasted lady!

I bought two packs of 2 - one white/nude and one white/black - and they were only £16 per pack so only £8 per bra. Bargain. They are really nice and comfy.

I bought a 34C which does fit but also has quite a bit of room for extra growth during the coming months.

I feel so unsexy in the soft cup bras, can anyone recommend a non wired one that gives a good shape and uplift to big boobies? I am writing this and I kind of know its impossible!
