My sister told me i should be able to claim MA.
Only thing that confuses me, i looked on .gov for the MA. It dosent say anything bout unable to claim if you havnt worked. Ive been out of work for 4 yrs, so im not sure where i stand with it.

Any ideas?

to get it you have to have worked in a test period of 66 weeks that ends before your due date. my due date is 30th april, my test period was from something of jan 2008 to 25th april 2009. i only know this cos i've just applied for it!

just to add as long as you earned at least £30 in 13 of those weeks you should get it. they dont have to be in a row, you would chose the weeks you earned the most.

ah right so wot u girls have said, i won't be entitled ??

You shoud be entitled to something even if you've not been working. It's best to speak to someone about it though as the form you get is all about where you worked and what you earned during the 66 week test period.

This website should help and point you in the direction of the best number to call:
