I weaned Jake about 4 weeks ago now. I have so far been giving Jake either pureed or soft but lumpy food. I am a bit confused as to when I should start giving him food that he actually has to chew. I tried him with scrambled egg this morning but he just gagged on most of it or spat it out. Also when can I start giving finger foods? I am so scared of him choking. I do know what to do if he chokes but it would still frighten the life out of me.

Start him on finger foods....

He will gag but will get used to it very quickly. AS long as you don't give him hard lumps (grapes etc) and stay with him of course he'll be fine :D

Try fingers of pear as it's a lot softer than apple, or rice cakes with mashed avocado on. :D
