Hey

I am pretty sure my early miscarriage last month was due to me having a low progesterone level because I have browny discharge for days before, during and after my period. It has been like this since I came off the pill. It is 28 days today since my last period, and AF is here again, but I have had really slight browny tinged discharge since last Saturday - that's not normal is it? Plus AF is not normal, it's too light and too brown. I only get a bit of red blood. Does anyone know why it's like this? Is there something wrong with me or is it because I only came off the pill in April? I just don't feel like my body is working properly. I knew last months bfp wasn't going to be a sticky cos my cycle is all screwed up. It's good that it's 28 days since my last AF, but it's no good if I haven't got enough progesterone to maintain a healthy pregnancy. Does anyone have a similar problem to me or is anyone being treated for the same thing? Can you even treat it or will it mean that I won't ever be able to go 9 months? I am so sad right now, I just wish I hadn't waited so long to try for a baby. It's been 7 months but it feels like forever and I don't see any improvement with my AF. I have asked my doctor to run tests but he's not interested and just said I could get pregnant - yes, and I did, but miscarried 3 days later!!!! :wall: :wall: He said it's just one of them things and he won't do anything till I have been trying 18 months. Is there anything I can do to help myself? Anyones views, opinions or experiences would be much appreciated.

Sorry I can not help really but I did not want to read and run, and I also wanted to give you

I have no idea hun - but just wanted to send you a great big

ive been having the same "af" as you this month but ive never been on the pill or been pregnant, the only advice i got was to go to the dr's, and that was what i was planning on doing, i would would advise you to do the same but it seems youve already been, if i can get in to see my dr i'll let you know how it went as we may both have the same problem, sorry i couldnt be of more help.

I always spot for up to a week b4 AF, but they are heavy when they come.
My progesterone b4 the clomid was 30 (borderline) and 49. And after 1 month of clomid went up to 91.
Anything over 30 indicates OV. But if progesterone is low it makes it hard to sustain a pregnancy.
I'd go to your docs ad heve a chat see what they say

Thanks for the replies, you guys are all great.

It will be interesting to see what your doc says lirael17, good luck - please do let me know how you get on, if you wouldn't mind?

Skairdykat, if you don't mind me asking, how much spotting do you have? Is it enough to fill a pantyliner or mark your knickers or is it merely when you wipe? Hope you don't mind me asking such a personal question (feel free to ignore me!), but mine is very light, barely even there and to be honest if I hadn't become obsessed with checking my cm, I might well have missed it! But I scrutinise every bit of cervical mucus these days (ttc has made me gross!!). AF has got a bit heavier now. The fact that it's 28 days since my last period that AF has started (properly) reassures me slightly. I just wonder if it's still my body getting used to being without the god damn pill! If I do have low progesterone levels, is it easy to correct or will I always struggle to get preg?

I think you can get a progesterone cream but I don't know that much about it. I think Hollyhobby uses it, maybe send her a quick pm?

I hope you get some answers soon

Hi hon,

I had blood tests last month that showed I had an anovulatory cycle because my progesterone was so low, but I did have a period so they can't have been right on that. I did catch this month but now I'm worried that low progesterone will mean I'm more at risk of MC so I ordered some of the progesterone cream that Hollyhobby is using.

I think you sound like you have enough progesterone to catch (I got full AF 8dpo every cycle and still caught the egg) but it might be worth using the cream if you are concerned. Holly reckons it can't do any harm...

Good luck

Thanks guys, yeah Holly Hobby if you see this post can you let me know where you get progesterone cream from and (stupid question alert!) what you do with it?!

Also, I've ready that B6 vitamins may help - anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

Hi,

I don't have time to reply right now but will tomorrow. I have low progesterone and am being treated for it. you can take pessaries to maintain your pregnancy through the first tri. The placenta takes over in tri 2. If you can afford it I would go to a fertility clinic who will run tests and have you straight on the pessaries. I fell with my son the first month I took them after a year of mc's and chemical pregnancys. Your docs will unlikely help you until you have had three mc's.

Will talk more but please pm me with any questions.

Thats what I use, Serenity, twice a day and started it from cd14 and have never looked back! I also take 1 x 75mg low dose asprin a day too.

After my m/c I knew next time I had to feel like I was going to give it my best shot but my doctor just thinks it was one of those things (which is probably was) and said she wouldnt advice me take these till I had had 3 misscarriages - but as I said to her why wait till 3 when 1 is more than enough and if it's safe after 3 why not after 1! She thinks I don't need to take anything but it's for my peace of mind and so far everything is going great!

We have breast cancer in my family whch is associated with too much estrogen and after looking at the signs of low progesterone i had quite alot of them. Then you read that fertility doctors, even after no testing, put their patients on progesterone and asprin as a matter of course.
Plus the cream stops PMT and mood swings!

Theres a girl on here who never carried successfully till she used the cream and asprin, so if its not going to harm then i think it's worth a go.

Mines the same as yours hun. Hardly there, some months I don't need a pantyliner, others I do. Sometimes it stops and starts but aways happens, getting gradually more a couple of days b4 AF.
Hope that helps hun xxx

Hiya

I went to the docs today. She said my progesterone levels on day 21 (last Tuesday) were 40 which is enough to sustain pregnancy but I think is quite low still which worries me...

I wish my progesterone cream would hurry up and arrive I ordered it on Friday :(

Ejjie - I am sure if the doc said it is enough to sustain a pregnancy then you will be fine. I've got my fingers crossed for you, you really deserve it.

Does anyone here know what the symptoms of low progesterone are?

How long have you been off the pill for Kel?

I got taken off mine in January last year, and literally have only had normal, regular periods for the last 3-4 months! So guess just goes to show it can take a long time for things to settle down again!

Love and luck xxx

Hey Babyblonde, I've been off the pill since April 08. It's not that long when you compare it to you! I was on it for about 15 yrs without a break so I guess it may be taking a while to leave my body. I hate it!!!!

Thanks for sharing - you have reassured me that it is perhaps normal and can take a while for your cycle to start properly again!

Oh and lots of luck for tomorrow, I've got my fingers crossed for you - it's sounding positive though!!

Does anyone here know what the symptoms of low progesterone are?

alergies, sore boobs, breast cancer, cold hands and feet, craving sweets, loss of sex drive, depression, dry skin, endimetriosis, pcos, pmt,, bloating, miscarriage, panic attacks, insomnia, increased blood clotting, blood sugar, gallbladder disease, early onset of mensus... and much much more.

before TTC i had the implant. i spotted almost 24/7 with that and bled randomly through the month although didnt actually have a proper AF. the doctor said that i probably wasnt getting enough progesterone from it so i had to take the progesterone only mini pill on top of that. now having had 2 mc im wondering if i could be low in progesterone. penny had just dropped. some of the symptoms hollyhobby mentionned has rang true too.

i had mentiionned to the doc about using progesterone cream and asprin too and she said not to mess about with my body but i think when i fall next time i might have to try them for peace of mind.

Crikey, I didn't realise there were so many! I think I am going to give myself one more cycle to see when AF arrives - it was 28 days this month, so I will be pleased if it's 28 days next time too. And, the spotting was less this month, though I was having the early miscarriage the month before so the bleed was heavier all round. Obviously, I'd rather get a BFP and not have to worry about spotting or 28 day cycles!! Thanks for the advice HollyHobby

Dina Marie - The cream is worth a go, I can't take asprin because I'm allergic to it, but I will be giving the cream a go if I see no improvement next month. I have bought some vitamin B this month because I read somewhere that vitamin B6 is good for upping progesterone levels too. Probably won't make any different but it's making me feel like i'm doing something! Good luck hun, lets hope we get our sticky bfp's soon.

That's a good level hun, don't worry. have you asked your doc if it's okay to use the cream whilst PG?
