a moby wrap is the way to go for newborn to around 9months, they are stretchy, fit perfectly every time, dont hurt your back and best of all the come in tonnes of different colours and styles!
for older children id suggest a mei tai carrier, made of soft fabric they are brilliant from around 6month (you can use from birth but my kids werent comfortable) to 3yr+!! the best mei tais are called babyhawks http://www.babyhawk.com/ but you can get cheaper ones if you look around. my favourate mei tai (which i paid £75 for ) was a custom made Melkaj... it was GORGEOUS!!
unfortunetly Ffion (now 21month) decided a while ago she'd rather walk than be carried *sob* but Rhys who is 3 still likes to be carried in his custom cow print mei tai i got off ebay 2 years ago!!
i can post piccys if you want to see any of the carriers
I have a torn disc in my lower back which docs are concerned about for throughout this pregnancy and I was desperate to have a sling for this baby but I was wondering if it would be feasible with back history? Does anyone know? I'm gonna check with doctor too but was just wondering! Thanks
