So here we go...
Came to hospital for my induction yesterday and had like a flat tampon thing inserted (which was uncomfy but not too painful) this then fell out an hour and half later!
Had another one put in and laid down to go to sleep, which I failed to do!
The induction wars was bays so could here other people plus I was very uncomfy in those short hospital beds! Started to get mild period type cramps which got stronger, asked for pain relief and was given paracetamol and codeine. This didn't help and I was still awake at 1am with the pains more uncomfortable! Was given diamorphine and slept for two hours! Then woke to much worse pains and went to find midwife, was examined and found to be 4-5cm so was taken striaght to labour ward. Told them I wanted epidural as the pain was so bad. However was examined an hour later after waiting for the epidural person and was found to be 9cm!!
Many more internals and baby was found to be laying wrong way and heart beat dipping. I was told not to push for over an hour! Room flooded with people and was put on drip and moved to various positions, could move from bed as was strapped up and being laid down made it worse!
Was then told I could push, after more internals as baby had moved abit, pushed for an hour and half and started to get very exhausted! Decision was I needed help and therefore had forceps and was cut! Area numbed and was given pain relief in a cannula which I could control, neither worked! As I pushed baby was pulled out an I swear I have never felt so
Much pain!! after I had to wait to hold baby as area needed numbing once
More and stitched up, the
Numbing hurt as they inject inside and out!
Overall did the actual labour on crappy gas an air, I swear I have never felt as much pain and exhaustion in my life and I will not be doing it again!
Baby totally worth it though she is beautiful and was 8lb 1oz
Every birth story is different and I expected to be walking round, which makes it less painful however was strapped to a bed
