My eldest is 15. She just got diagnosed yesterday with acne. We've tried all sorts but we finally admitted defeat and went to the GP. She was really good and prescribed antibiotic cream especially for the treatment of acne. Emily is really pleased bless her. The timing is great because it takes a couple of weeks to see results and of course she's not at school now till the new year. We've just been laughing taking pictures so we can do a comparison from now until her going back. She was doing the big glum face like they do on the make over shows to make them look worse

I asked her if anyone ever says anything at school and she said yes some of the 'horrible girls' do. They take the piss and say 'Oh Emily, I've got a massive spot' and the like. Gosh I wish I were 15 again I'd leather them. Emily is really good and just says 'yeah I have loooooads!' and ignores them. She's got some good friends who will just say to them 'me too I'm covered!' and they brush them off.

You just wish you could be there to knock their heads off for them......:trouble:

That is awful!

Tbh they sound like really silly little girls who need to grow up.

Just tell Emily that when she's a doctor/lawyer/teacher/whatever one day, they'll be in a dead end job with only their sarcasm and crap humour for company!

Bet they didn't get an A*!

Girls are particularly evil as teenagers :( I went to an all-girl's school and...nasty is the word. Particularly horrible if you had to be nasty back to survive and hated doing it...

Your poor girl :( It WILL go though, and those that are taking the piss will "get theirs" karma-wise. I'd tell Emily to keep up her "positive front" A much stronger girl than I would have been!

 for Emily, does she want her Auntie Mamafy to sort them :trouble: I'll 'pretend' I'm 15

I understand how you feel though, when one of the girls come home and say someones said something it makes me so cross

 @ Emily and her glum face  Has she Mummies dark sense of humour? God help er

Girls are horrid. Glad Emily is so mature that she hasn't taken it all to heart.

I too had bad acne as a teenage and now I sit quite smug in my little life, with clear skin while they are working there butts off in McDonalds looking after 8 kids all to different dads.

Those nasty girls will be getting spots into their forties..I just did a spell.. :witch: hehehe

Thanks girls :)

I said to Emily she will end up with skin that they all envy. It's funny because she almost went to an all girls school but I'm pretty glad she didnt when it comes to this type of thing. I said do the boys say anything and she said no - in fact today one complimented her on her hair which we'd styled so it cleverly covered her forehead which is her worst area!

Boys have much less bitchiness, I see that here at home  The boys never get into bother but I'm forever prizing the girls apart :wall:

want me to go sort them out hahaha? at 17 i could prolly get away with duffing them up too mwahahaha

cant stand bullies me, they need a taste of their own medicine!

i look 15, i'll come and give them what for  i know what she's going thru tho, i went thru it all when i was at school and it was so horrible :( i was referred to dermatologists and everything. but there is light at the end of the tunnel, my skin's so good now, i get the odd spot, but nothin like it used to be! am glad em's mature and can shrug it off xx

Aww poor Emily, so glad she has been prescribed something
Girls can be so nasty, I feel my hackles rising a few times when My Em is telling me some stuff

That's awful  Glad she's dealing with it so well though... she sounds very mature - a hell of a lot more grown up than they are.

Do we reckon Auntie Mamafy could pass for 15?

:( poor emily, glad she knows theyre just being horrid bless her x

lasses are so bitchy! I always hung out with the lads myself as they were much less judgemental. Its good that emily has a sense of humour and is getting on with things. Spots and achne are so common at that age, it makes me wonder why its made out to be such a big deal with the young'uns xx

Well my pic is in the photo section, of course I could

I've been through something similar - my daughter has an overbite, and she's really self-concious about this! I wanted to get her braces and she was horrified!! she said that girls at school get teased when they wear 'train-tracks'..
A group of girls from her school keep teasing her and calling her 'bugs-bunny' and one of them said that she could eat carrots through a tennis racket! To see my little girl so heartsore and vulnerable is one of the worst things i'm going through... and what can I do? you're right... kids are cruel..

aww its a shame isnt it i used to get called fat all the time at school and i was like 7stone!! at 5ft 3 so i was well skinny then caused me to go through anarexia after i recovered i got the fat comment again and went the other way then i put so much weight on its been one prob after another - im only just evening out my weight now and im big lol!!!! just shows what a lasting effect a fe comments can have :(

how is her skin doing now?
