Hi Ladies,

Im 28 weeks and 4 days. No one has mentioned kick counting to me yet but i have just read a little from someone elses thread :)

should i start to counting babys movements now ? she is very active at the minute,

Any advice would be great :)

Thank you xxxxxxxxxx

To be honest there's conflicting advice about kick counting. All I've ever done is kinda note (in my head) what times of the day pip generally moved

Like generally when I wake up there's a few kicks/squirms, I get some general movement during threat and pip usually goes mental at night when I get in bed and lay on my side

I think if you know baby has a bit of a pattern then all is well. My midwife and hospital both said that people are using the counting method less. They said go with your body and what you know about your baby

If you're not happy then go get checked out xx

i argree with ^^ u know ur baby more than anyone else and will be more aware of routines of sleep patterns and general crazyness they have :) so as long as ur aware of this and its desnt change your fine, it would only become a problem if you realised ur baby wasnt following normal patterns and generally goes a bit quiet that you would need to be concerned about, not the number of kicks xx

My mw also says to judge more by sleeps and wakes, I know Albert's routine almost to the minute now lol xxxxxxxx

Thank you for the advice, I dont think im going to start counting il lose count and get myself in a fluster probably, Shes active throughout the day with the odd 20 - 30 minutes interval, she starts to move around 10ish (lazy bones), and during lunch etc... what i have noticed now is her routine at the night, once im in bed (on my side) she will move for about ten minutes then stop, unless i wake during the night i dont usually fell her move again until the next day ? either because i may be in a deep sleep or the way she is positioned, plus my other half asks me every ten minutes "has she moved " "is she awake" haha

Thanks Again xxxxxx

just agreeing with the other ladies here, ive been told the whole time not to bother with counting and just make sure hes moving according to his normal movements- if anything changes i phone and go and get monitored xxxxx

Kick counting would have me up the hospital all the time lol....
Like the others have said there will be a pattern, if anything changes then ring the maternity unit. I had to at work at beginning of last week and they told me to go staright up there and they put the doppler on xxx
