Hi all,

I have a question. My sister called round today and asked if I would be tested for down's syndrome (as I am 34). I'm guessing this was a fair question but I got really uptight and started crying! I'm not really a dramatic sort of person and never really react like this! Do you think it is my hormones???
Thanks

Pam

hiya

could be mine are all over the place at the minute. I seem to range from calm and happy to tired and emotional in the space of a second or two. hoping this doesnt last very long as people are beginning to notice.:oooo:

Same here. One minute I'm fine and the next in tears! Only the close family know and thankfully I work from home so it's only really my poor husband who gets it in the neck all the time!!

think the subject probably didnt help, Im 37 so tests for down's syndrome have been mentioned to me too and I suddenly felt very tearfull; and protective over this little life growing inside me.

Noticed that out dates are very close, I cant wait to get to 12 weeks then hopefully i will feel less anxious.

Ahh Hun, everything is changing for you at the moment, it's totaly understandable, just tricky if those around you don't know yet!

You have plenty of time to consider your options for this, I wouldn't worry about this till your chat with the midwife on your booking in appointment. :)

I'm 36, there are lots of us slightly older ones on here, it's great!

lols i keep going spacky at people and crying at stupid adverts and stuff lol as to the downs thing everyone is offered testing im older than you and declined it as it doesnt make a difference to me but your midwife will happily explain it all to you

Thanks JJ mum- and nicola I feel the same as you about the 12 week scan. We have been trying for 18 months and now I have the BFP I find other things to worry about!! Perhaps I am just a worrier! I also felt protective so perhaps it is normal!
