where i work if u get a sick certficate n have to have a year or more off u get 6 months full pay - 6 months half pay and then no pay but as i have had 6 months off having a baby i only get statory pay which works out at summit like £300 wen i used to be on nearly £500 so y if i went sick wld i get more pay than wen i am bringing a baby into the world???

Im not sure I understand what you mean, it sounds a little confusing.

Can you not talk to your boss, or someone where you work and ask them to explain it?
Maybe research it on the internet too?????

Im thinking what Sarah meant was that if you are off on maternity for a year you get wages at a fraction of what you usually get but in theory could be off sick for a year and get full pay.
Either way, you will still get flowers.

But, im thinking again, if you were on full pay you wouldnt get as much tax credit as you would on a smaller wage so I expect it should kind of even itself out.
