Is it a silly name?

Hey,
My hubby really likes Rocco for a boy! I do like it as we are after a more unusal name . . . but not a silly one. Although I think its ok I dont want people to think its a really daft name. What do you think honestly? I wont be offended!

I'm not sure, I like it a lot but I know someone who has a dog called Rocco lol

^^ hehe don't let that put you off, I share my name with many cats and dogs, one of which was my neighbours alsation when I was growing up
I like to think about the name in a context, like if I were going for an interview or meeting some sort of business person, what presumptions would I have made about that person. I think it really depends on the surname too?

Oh yeah I agree, don't let it put you off! I nearly named my son Toby knowing full well I had a cat called Toby!

Didn't madonna name her son Rocco? It's definately original!

I'm not sure about it tbh x I also try to put names into context like could I imagine meeting a CEO or similar with a name x I do this with all my names on my list! x lol

Mmmm, thanks ladies. Madonna did call hers Rocco yeah! I dont know if its too much of a hard name, although i do like it, Think im more concerned about others and I know what you mean about job interviews, dont think it would go down too well, poor lad! Also know what you mean about pets, we almost called our tortoise Rocco haha! x

I think naming your child has to be one of the hardest decisions! Me and my OH are constantly 'arguing' over what we will call ours!
I know how you feel about other peoples reactions to names. Me and my OH absolutely adore a singer called Chris Cornell and had a discussion about if we had a Son, calling him Cornell. We love the idea but wouldn't do it cos its bound to not go down very well with people on the outside! Lol...xxx

dont worry about what other ppl think, if they judge a person cuz of there name then its there problem.
name your baby a name YOU like. And for what its worth.. Rocco is cool

Rocco is very unusual , would go nicely with a short middle name eg Rocco Ray or Rai

Like other people said, names create an impression. If you were about to meet a guy called Eugene you would automatically think....Geek but........times are changing and people are being more creative with names these days so by the time you LO will be going for job interviews, Rocco won't be that unusual iykwim. I like the name, its cool xx

My hubby wanted to call our son rocco,but I refused cos rocco is the name of his porn star idol :/ but if u like it u should goveiv it,my cousins little boy is called manuel,I just think of the monkey off friends everytime I say it but she loves it and it's different! x

i like it, sounds very italian...

Dont let other people put you off as already been said, this is YOUR baby, not theres and its u that will be shouting the name when it teatime and they outside playing ! (i actually stood and shouted WULLIE before i had him to see if it sounded stupid when i shouted it lol) try it xx

Some people look at my name and think i cant spell...but im only spelt with one M in my name and i love it, its a common name with a twist..(ema-louise)

I say go for it hun xx
