Hello everyone

In regards to my problem with the blood in the morning (see my other viewtopic.php?f=3&t=110716) I wonder if I should go for an internal examination. Has anyone done that? Its just cos the blood in the morning still hasn't stopped. Even so its not there during the day, its kinda worrying. Would I call my GP for that? Sorry for the rather stupid question, but I am from Germany and over there I would just go to the gynaecologist straight away.
Or do you guys reckon I should just wait and see?

Thanks

I would probably go and see your GP and they might refer you to the gynacologist?
Its definately worth a try.

I had bleeding on and off with my last pregnancy and have had a little this time too. Both times all my care was under an OBGYN and on neither occasion did he do, or even suggest, an internal examination. Both times he did (as you have had) do an u/s scan to make sure baby was OK.

Bleeding in early pregnancy is quite common, and to be honest I'm not sure an internal would tell you anything that an u/s won't. In your shoes, hard though it is, I'd just try to wait patiently for the next scan. An internal won't be able to tell you that the baby is OK, whereas the scan will do that, so will be of limited reassurance value anyway imho.

i think in pregnancy its best to keep internals to a minimum to avoid introducing infection. its better to get a scan, altho earlier than 12 weeks i think are internal ones.
