Zinc and folic acid on male fertility. Men taking zinc and folic acid demonstrated a significant increase in total sperm, by 74%.

Crucial nutrients for men and womens reproductive system:
  • Zinc
    Vitamin E
Vitamin C - vitamin c can increase sperm by up to a third.
    Vitamin D
    Selenium
    B vitamins including folic acid.
    Omega 3
    co enzyme q10
    l-arginine, specifically l-carnitine

22 women who had, had 3 or more miscarriages, were treated with omega 3 fish oil. All women got pregnant within 2 months and had successful pregnancies

You need to balance out omega 3 and omega 6 as too much omega 6 could be the reason
your not getting pregnant.
I was taking Omega 3 since TTC and I honestly never new how important it was. You can actually get tests done to see if you omega 6 levels are too high. If you have too much O6 it causes inflammation. IE stops you from conceiving. The NHS will not test you for this. But obviously don't go on an omega 3 rampage as too much of it can become toxic - Too much is bad and too little is bad.

A specialist (down below) said you should be taking pre conception tablets, as well as vitamin D and C as there isn't enough in the pre conception tablets. You can also get tests for these to see if you having enough or too little. Your body cannot produce vitamin D, so when you take vitamin D your body stores it..Again if you take too much its bad as your body doesnt get rid of it and can go into your fat. Vitamin c you pee out every 3 hours, she basically said more vitmain c the better, but obviously don't overdose on it.
Vitamin 3 also shows improved sperm. In women it is associated with higher progesterone and lower follicle-stimulating hormone.

Check out - Marilyn Glenville. She was at the show, she has a 3 months programme to help get you pregnant. Its expensive, but she has such high %% of helping women conceive.

I went mostly to recurrent miscarriage stands/ seminars so most the info i got wont be much use to the ladies who haven't had RM. So I wont put that. ( if you want that info you can message me :) )
Thats all i can remember at the moment...I hope this has helped a little!! :) xx

thank you for the info!
congrats and have a happy and healthy 9months! xx

This is really interesting PB - thanks for passing it on. Hope you are still doing well xxx

Thanks for that - may have to get a shopping list together, I thought a pre conception multi vit would be enough, obviously not!
X

Wow thanks Peanut! I better getting looking at some more conceptions vits for me and OH. Anybody recommend any? Xx

Thanks for the info PB, I really wanted to go to this but oh was working so would have had to go on my own! I would defo be interested in whatever you found out about recurrant mc x
Thats interesting what you say about omega3 as was reading up on that a while ago about how important this is, they were saying it really is as important as folic acid.

I was taking omega 3 for the last 6months maybe it helped ?

Wow thank you. I read that omega 3 (high dose though) can reduce nk cells and mine did come down a bit. I'm taking them every day now but not 2x daily tablets like before. Also on vitamin C, D and zinc... I believe they're all very important! Xx

stacesl3 - Theres another one on in Manchester the start of next year, loads of women were on there own. The seminars were very helpful. I went to a seminar about RM, was really interesting and basically said that for women with RM the nhs are shit. They dont care they dont even run tests that might help find out why. I would definitely go to a private fertility place to run tests, i like the fact that you can have 1 test done every now and then to help find the reason so you dont go broke trying to find the cause & they seem to actually care and try. It is worth going private for some testing. NK cells Especially.

Phonix - Yes the lady did say that high omgea 3 brings down NK cells. The lady doing the seminar about vitamins etc was amazing!! She has a 3 month programme to help you get pregnant/going for IVF... Her % are really high in helping women sustain a preg after IVF. Her name is in the main post. ^ xx

Thank you PB! This info is really helpful... "sharing is caring" :):)

I also started taking Omega 3 for the last couple of months as read it's needed for egg quality.. maybe that's what helped me too. I was also taking Vitamin C which I read was more effective is rising progesterone then the B6 - I had LP of 10 days :)

Manchester a little far for me. I'm pretty convinced both my mc were due to age/bad eggs as they were both blighted ovums (not confirmed). I'm so glad you found it helpful, thanks for sharing the info x

Great info PB.

I added high dose of omega 3 to my ever growing list of supplements about 2 1/2 months before my first bfp. Each time I've gotten pregnant I've halved the dose as it's too high for pregnancy.

I'm taking 2 lots of 1400 a day. A fertility specialist told me to take that much while preg! Didn't wanna not heh x

Oh that's interesting. I think my non pregnant dose is only 1200.

So what dose of omega 3 should I be taking? I need to find liquid/chewable versions of all vitamins it's a pain, i think most are too low dose.

Chewable vitamins aren't very good tbh.
Hubby couldn't take tablets either, he said it's so easy taking the omega 3 tho cos it just slides down and don't feel anything. Hes finally stared swollowing his vitamins whole now, he chewed it before heh. It does get easier if you try :p xx

I was taking tescos own until I bought some from the fertility show. You havn't got to take a high dose, it's up to you. Ikno that holland and barrotts are good for omega 3 x

Very good info here. Thank you Peanut.

I will do blood test to find out if my omega 3,6 is too high or too low.

I don't take omega supplements at all but I do eat salmon a lot.

3-4 times a week. Im worried I might have too high. I love salmon mmm xx

Hi girls, sorry I'm a bit late on this post and there seems to have been a big response to it. I take the Centrum pre pregnancy supplement....should I be taking Omega 3 tabs and Vit C on top of that? I had a miscarriage and D&C 6 weeks ago and now TTC again. Thanks in advance xx
