My Lo has just about recovered from sickness and diaorriah after a week (yay...I'm sp pleased!!!!!! :cheer: ). Throughout her illness she was waking a few times a night, which is to be expected...needing her nappy changed, extra feeds as she wasn't having very much in the day and cuddles cos she was feeeling rubbish...poor chick

Anyway...now she is almost back to normal, but she is still waking in the night for feeds..... before she was ill she had just started sleeping through (3 weeks of 6.30pm-6.30am :cheer: ) but now she can't do it. Does anyone know if this is a common thing after being ill...do you think she's doing it out of habit or is still needing extra milk. I obviously want her to go back to seeping thro but don't mind been up feeding her if it's what she needs....just trying to make sense of it really.

thanks.
:D

We had very similar around this time... It also co-incided with her 9 month growth spurt (which you are probably approaching!!).

She woke up to 10 times a night. I used to offer her water, but more often than not, she just wanted her dummy back.

It does become habit, I'm sure of it - but not necessarily even for food, just the waking!

Phoebe did this for about 6 weeks, then all of a sudden, when I thought I'd tried everything just started sleeping through again - I have no idea what changed, but it also happened to be around the time that she started crawling.

So this waffly post is just to give you a bit of hope that it will end!

That exactly what happened to us! Daniel was at your lo age when he got a tummy bug and before he showed sighns of sleeping through, but straight after ilness he went back to night feeding.

I have a theory that he sort of tryed to catch up on food after ilness. And I am glad he did cos he looked like a sceleton for a while.

He finally started sleeping throught not long after his 1st birthday.
