One of my friends just made a joke and said my baby will be here very soon!! As many of you will know I have been drinking one cup of raspberry leaf tea a day since about 32 + 4 to tone my uterus in preparation for labour. I finished work last Friday and on Monday I decided to do all the crappy jobs in the house before I got too big. One of these jobs involved me on all fours for most of the day cleaning the skirting boards.

I started getting crampy feelings this week in tummy and back (like a period but minus the blood) and noticed my BH are getting stronger and a tad painful (not regular though!!) and today I bought a pineapple from Asda (on offer only a quid!!) and ate half of it in a fruit salad with an apple and banana earlier. My mate popped round as was like so you're drinking the tea, cleaned on all fours and ate half a fresh pineapple and you're having cramps... baby will be here soon! Obviously I know everyones different and theres no actual proof that any of those things brings on labour... but what shes said is playing in mind now and made me paranoid ahhh!! x

Tbh Hun, the cramps will probs be because of what you've been doing rather than labour being imminent! I did absolutely everything with my first and she was 10 days late! But you never know! They'll come when they're ready!

Yeah I believe that baby will come when she comes... whether that'll be now or full term or after my due date, regardless of what I've been drinking/eating or doing! I think she was just teasing me to be honest but it got my little brain ticking lol. xx

Everyone told me I'd pop 4 weeks early at least as I was MASSIVE! it got me all excited an I was so o
Convinced I'd have her early! Never bloody did tho! With my 2nd I planned on going overdue so it was a nice surprise when she arrived on her due date!

People don't realise how offhand or flippant remarks can send people into a panic. I wouldn't worry too much hun xxxxxx

I didnt even think about it till she left and I was like "oh crap". I'm normally very sceptical and find it hard to believe certain things like a pineapple and cleaning on all fours can just trigger labour like that (I always think its a coincidence!) but when she mentioned it it just planted a seed in my head I guess. I had a browse on the internet afterwards and it seems a lot of people have been eating pineapples, having sex lots, eating curries etc and its done nothing, whereas some people claim it put them in labour straight away. x

I read you need to eat about 7 pineapples to have any proper effect lol. Maybe rest a bit and relax so the cramps etc calm down. They say you often follow other family members with stuff like this as well so if your mum, aunties, sisters etc were early or late you can be as well, seems quite true in our family we're nearly all late. It's like periods and body shape.

i agree with Me, my girls and I. My children so far were 10 days and 11 days overdue and i tried Everything! I even tried raspberry leaf capsules, castor oil, a curry, 2 fresh pineapples and the rest^^ one day to see if i could shift them. All i got was stomach ache and the runs!! Think babies come when they are ready no matter what you do. x

baby won't come until ready. Trust me, been so uncomfortable i've tried them all, vindaloo followed by a whole pineapple and managed to convince OH that we needed to dtd (twice) nothing, not even a twinge!

Yeah I agree with you all, think it was just a bit of paranoia lol!! Esp after some women had said they ate half a fresh pineapple and an hour later they were in labour - must've been a coincidence for them. If it is true about taking after other family members I wont be too bad because I arrived dead on the day and my sister was one day early lol. xx.

It's the core of the pineapple that contains the enzymes that are meant to kick you off! I did actually start after having eaten the core of 2 and was having some sexy time, but don't really believe it was that that did it! I'd also completely accepted I was going to be induced and had been in work telling everyone there I was going to be induced in a few days as I had no signs! I was proper relaxed about the whole thing which is when it's more likely to happen!

The following your mum thing - I was 4 weeks early and my sister was early as well! I had a 10 days late and one on her due date!

I agree with everyone I think most times its just a bit of a coincidence when people go into labour after one of the 'remedies' I've been trying them all since 38 weeks, baby is engaged and ready but clearly not quite ready enough, trying to relax now and forget about it, I did do a 1.5 mile walk this morning and we are gonna attempt to dtd later (so romantic - not!!! Lol) but I'm pretty sure it won't do anything!!!
If you are in early labour it will be because that is what was meant to happen rather than anything you've done hon, so don't stress or worry you've done nowt wrong, we can't sit wrapped in cotton wool for the last few weeks life goes on and skirting boards need cleaning lol
