Hi all, I had a bleed with lots of fluid a week and a half ago - it lastest for half a day and I have had nothing since. My local hospitol were not willing to scan me so I have paid for a private scan. The scan today showed I had a well defined haematoma posterior of the gestational sac. My notes say it is close to the cervix mainly anechoic in appearance with some internal echoes, suggesting a fresh bleed. It is quite a large area.
In normal terms she said it could be a bruise from inplantation and that i may bleed again. She also said that as it was below sac and close to the cervix it is the safest place for it to be and fairly normal. It should clear itself up by 20 weeks.
Although I am glad that i know what has caused it and that the sonographer didn't seem concerned, but am still frightened that i might bleed again. The baby is growing according to dates and she could see stomach and bladder today.
Has anyone else ever had this or know anything about it? Think i might have to google just to find some more info - no i shouldn't but i have learnt more during this pregnancy than i have during my last three and can't stand not knowing!
Thank you for reading x
