This is just a rant really...I just cannot believe how angry I could be with one work place!
I work for a high street store, and before today it was the worst job Ive ever had but knew it wasnt for much longer, so kept a happy attitude anyway. Today however I left work shouting at one of the supervisors that 'this company is a joke.'
We have 'detention' rooms where theives are sent to be questioned and if underage, wait to be picked up. In there, there is a security guard and also a member of staff (who acts as a witness). I was asked to do this at 18:15 and was told it would only be for half an hour or so, as they didnt want me sat down on a stool for too long. There was already a girl in there waiting to be picked up and a security guard, then two more girls were brought in and seen to. At about 18:45, the original security guard had already left and the 2 who were dealing with the two girls then left to escort them off and said they'd be back in a minute.
I was left in the room with the girl who had been there when I first arrived, with no one else in the room. She couldnt be left alone (as she would leave) and there was no phone or any way for me to contact ANYBODY outside the room. I knew Id been there a while but eventually a supervisor walked in and kind of laughed saying 'do you not want to go home?!' I had been left in that room with somebody waiting to be charged with a criminal offence for an hour and a quater!!! It was 200!!! I was supposed to finish my shift at 19:30. I had no access to a toilet, water or food and all I had was an uncomfortable stool. I was livid and just walked out.
I have a shift tomorrow but I wont be going in, instead Im waiting till monday and going to see the manager and making a formal complaint. Sorry this rant was so long but I have truly never been treated so badly by an employer. Ive been told that even if I need to money (I need to be there another 4/5 weeks to qualify for maternity allowence) that its no use getting my blood pressure up and getting stressed over a job and to leave.....but the money would be soo useful next year!
Again lol, sorry for the rant! Needed to get it out my system lol.
