how soon can i do a hpt after possible conception??

hi there ladies!
hoping someone can help me out with this, as me & my partner have only just started TTC!

i came off my contraceptive pill just over a week ago,
i have been told that women can conceive the day after they come off their pill or months after!

just wondering, if i have already conceived (as there is a possibility i may of) then how soon can i use a hpt to test for it?

Hi and welcome to the forum -

Well it's certainly possible to fall pregnant when your not on the pill , I fell pregnant while using it and forgot to take a one, one day with my first!!

I would ask where were you in your cycle when you came off, and what date was that ?

well, this is where the confusion for me starts!

i hadnt actually had a proper period for almost two months, since the second week of february

which is why my GP had me come off the pill in the first place although i was intending to come off it anyway, so its a good job me & my partner were both wanting to TTC anyway!

so im not entirely sure where im at in my cycle at the moment
i really thought i was pregnant (still do a little bit)
but my GP was totally convinced i wasnt even though ive been having all the symptoms associated with pregnancy for 4 weeks or so now, but my hpt's were coming back negative, so no idea whats been going on

the doc seems convinced i cant be pregnant because i was on the pill
but like you said, it can happen!

and i was liable to forgetting one or two a pack!!
