Hello,

I was just woundering how much time off from work people have had, its just that in 6+4 today and ive already had a week off work due to bleeding e.t.c

Also I have my scan tomorrow morning and the lady that organised the scan said i must bring the results back to her and she may arrange for another 2 weeks off for me due to all the stress ive had.

This feels a really long time (although i know its best for my lil baby) Im just worried about what my boss will say.

ive not had any time off yet, but im my own boss so would loose too much money if i took time off.

however when i worked for nhs during last pregnancy i had about 5 months off during pregnancy, big companies dont mind as they cant do any thing about it any ways

none yet, but i'm extremely stressed so I might be taking some time off

Ihavent had any yet, although I went in late yesterday and came home early as I felt so rough....I couldnt get out of bed lol.

Just ask HR to make a note that these days off are pregnancy related. Your boss cant really say a lot!

ive just had 8 weeks for surgery , this is only my 2nd one back ! im scared i need to have time off , as it will now be unpaid !

unless pregnancy off sick is different to normal off sick !

I am 20 weeks now but at weeks 7 & 8 I suffered from discharge and bleeding so I ended up having around 3 weeks off. It was my choice to take 3 weeks, and didn't get a doctors certificate so I never got paid. My work has been fantastic. I have now cut my hours and I'm on flexi time. xxx

I havent had anytime off yet, and too have been bleeding. But then again i only work in accounts and sit at my desk so its not at all stressfull. I just rest when i get home and take it faily easy at weekends.

Only a day for my scan. It was initially booked as Annual Leave, since I didn't want to tell work until afterwards (when I had the all clear). But I was able to claim it back, which is good.

My next appointment will probably entail having a good portion of the day off again, since it's scheduled for the middle of the day and I live a good hour and a half's travel from work.

You get time off for antinatal and all pregnancy related appointments dont you? Your meant to if your salaried. I know i do, even for aqua natal later on and stuff.

Yep. Our maternity policy says that you're entitled to time off for appointments, antenatal classes etc So it's all fine.

wish we got time of for morning sickness , swear its making it worse cos im out in my van with no toilet and just get panicy , then i gott try and drive home anyway :wall:

yeah know what u mean, i spend alot of my day driving, and the other day i felt sooo dizzy had to pull over and lie down for 5mins

what work do you do?

I've had 3 and a half days off so far (am making careful note!) plus a few hours here and there for appointments which we're entitled to.

is it true that pregnancy related sickness doesn't count as part of your "normal" sick leave (ie you get paid but it doesn't impact on your annual "allowance")??

ive been quite lucky, i haven't had any really bad sickness. I've only had 2 days off cos i was spotting so wanted to take it easy just in case :)

i feel sorry for you all.. i would have been sacked by now if i worked.. my daughters had about 3 weeks off school altogether coz i not been able to drive to school with feeling sick luckly shes in nursary so its not compulsary.. i dunno what i would do if i worked..ur all stronger than me!

im not that strong im going part time from the beginning of september (fingers crossed) working full time and carrying just a tiny bit more extra weight is knackering me already! so cant imagine what it will be like when my bump actually starts growing away properly
