how long

hi all i found out i am pg on nov 26th ive had my first
scan on the 17th dec but ive not yet heard anything
from the midwife i have another scan 14th jan but
no midwife app still how long do you normally wait
and shoulld i make contact with my gp about this

yeah i would, my GP had to do a form to get me referred to the mid wife. I got some conflicting information about how far along i would be when i first saw her (some docs said between 8 and 10 weeks, others said about 12 weeks). But i got to see mine yesterday for the first visit (11 weeks) and she has referred me for standard blood tests which apparently have to be done about 12 weeks.

It prob varies from MW to MW but contct your GP.

I had mine at 8 weeks last time, I'd be restless if I were you!

I made my own MW appointments via my GP's surgery as that is where my MW is based out of. Is standard practice here.

I'd always contact them anyways, don't wait for them to contact you as often its not how they do it. Every MW appointment I have now, she tells me the next time she needs to see me and I make the booking before I leave the surgery.

If you are close to 12 weeks I'd get and see her soon as its bloods etc taken then. She can book you in at the same time and you can ask her about how its all supposed to work from then on in
