I wondering and hoping that this labour will be abit quicker than the first time. my first with Elliot was 31hours :? :|

Thankyou, i remember the midwives saying to me at the time " don't worry alsha it will be quicker next time! not the best time for her to be saying that to me. but i am holding her to it now! oh well he was more than worth it :)

I'm wondering this too as my labour with Chloe was about 33 hours :|

My 1st (son) labour was long, induced and very painful, my second was just 4 hrs and very quick and hurt the least (daughter), just had gas and air with my 2nd, my 3rd (son) was a long labour first stage but when it got going it was about 4 hrs again and just gas and air, so hoping for a nice 4 hr labour with this one!

Well I'm counting on a quicker labour - 4 hours would be perfect!!!

Hi

Wow you girls had long labours  mine was only 8-11pm then had to have a section :? Hope you all have shorter labours this time

i'v heard that its meant to be quicker, hope it is for u!

My 1st labour was 19 hours from start to finish. My 2nd was induced but from when contractions started propally to being fully dilated it was about 5 hours so although still quite a long time it was a lot quicker. Thats not includidng 2nd stage labour cos I had some problemss. 3rd labour was only 1hr 44 mins so it does get better! :D

my second labour was quicker :D

my first was about 9 hours and my second was about 2!! so the chances are it will be quicker this time as your body knows what its doing now.

fongers crossed for a quicjker labour for you

DD 13 hours from waters breaking. DS 8 hours from waters breaking although established labour (contractions 5 mins apart) was only about 4 hours

hi, my first labour was 7 hours, which i thought was perfect, but my second one was 1 hour  and very intense , im hoping for a longer labour this time , or i just might give birth anywhere, any niggles and i am not leaving the house, i am VERY worried about this,,,
fast is good , but not too fast pleeeeease :?

I too am hopeful for a quicker labour this time around. Last time my labour lasted 27 hours and eight of those were pushing!!! Yes 8!!! I would never put up with that now, but at the time i didn't know that the actual pushing bit should be only 1-2 hours max.
Having said that i have heard that the quicker it is, the more intense the pain......... either way its gonna hurt!!!

aslong as this one isnt too quick, its abut a 35min drive to hospital o.o

I thought the quicker it was the more likely you are to tear too as you don't have time to stretch properly..... about 4 hours would be great I could handle that... 8 hours of pushing - OMG! you must have been exhausted!

My first was 24 hours and my second was about 8 hours. I am hoping this one is no longer than 8 but not too quick either as I would like time to get an epidural again as I had this for both my sons' births and it was BLISS.

good luck!

19 hrs for my first, 2 and a half hrs established for my second, so going no-where far from the house for this one, can see my waters going in the local shop :rotfl:

nine hrs for number one, then only two hours of 'established' labour for number two. I went from 3 to 10 cm in less than 30 mins, then got stuck pushing for an hour.......bloomin awful and VERY intense!

Number three was induced and lasted about four hours.

My first was 10 hours, 2nd was 7 hours, 3rd was 2 1/2 hours and my 4th was 4 hours
