how long does it take?

violet has been dribbling loads and chewing her hands for a couple of weeks now. yesterday i looked in her mouth and i can see one of her lower teeth! it hasn't broke through her gum yet but looks like it will soon. it's defintely a tooth...when i feel it it's raised hard and it white. people who have gone throgh teething i just wondered if you could tell me round abouts how long it takes for a tooth to come through properly. atm she doesn't appear to be in any pain, she's chewing her fists like mad but not crying more than usual.

Galen has been at this stage for ages. It could be months yet before anything breaks through. Impossible to know.

So long as she is happy then I'd leave her be. No point giving her something like Calpol unless its really needed.

We got some teething rings to chill in the fridge and Galen seems to like them now. He spends more time waving them about than chewing on them though
