How do you know when to go up a teat size?

As the title says....

My LO is 6 weeks and wondered when to go up to 1 month +? At the mo she is on 0 month teat. we're using avent.

I'm not sure about Avent as I use TT but I use the 1st size for the first 2/3 months (or when you notice the baby is having to work quite hard to get any milk) and then switched to Variflow teats which can actually be used from birth. These meant that the baby dictates the speed of flow depending on how hard they suck.
I'm not sure if Avent do something similar?

We had to switch from first size to variflow as E was sucking so hard to get milk out that the teats kept collapsing! So we went & bought TT variflow teats & he's so much better on them..
As Sunnysue said, maybe see if you can get Avent ones? xx
