Been told to have few days complete rest. Which means i've finished work was due to friday :-(

been feeling faint and having having heart palps amd just generally feeling run down. Gp put me on iron tabs and told me to rest but i'm find it difficult and its the first day lol. Keep finding myself getting up and doing housework. Feel bad that my son stuck in with me as i'm not supposed to drive for few days either.

How do u just rest and switch off ? xx

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling good. Maybe a nice soak in the bath, reading a book or watching a movie whilst tucked up in bed. Try to leave housework, I know that's easier said than done when lots needs doing but it isn't a priority right now if doctors have put you on bed rest.

Maybe some browsing on the net or window shopping etc will help you to unwind.

Hope you feel better soon xxx

I love to read, just get a good book in bed with you and that usually helps me to switch off! or get a good film on xxx

I don't!!!

Maybe you can think of things that need doing that require sitting?

Do a budget?
Banking?
Online food shop?
Sit down and prep dinner? Get all the veg on the kitchen table and peel/cut there?

Do something crafty with your son? Play doh? Colouring?

It's very difficult. But it's also really beneficial so ban yourself from housework and anything else like that. X

I'm terrible at resting too. I do have to sit down a bit more at the moment in between doing stuff but I'm always thinking about things that I should be doing and I feel guilty leaving DS to it for too long at a time.

I tend to spend most of my resting time browsing the Internet, doing some online shopping etc. I set DS up with something quiet like play doh or drawing. last week I did a jigsaw puzzle which I really enjoyed and ds actually liked joining in with that and watching. At the moment we also spend a lot of time in the garden, ds plays while I sit and watch and he just asks me to push him on the swing every now and again lol!

Best ting to do is eat stuff that naturally relaxes your body. Top of my list is Cherries and raw walnuts, this breaks it down why they work: http://parent2u.com/258/

Believe it or not, moderate exercise will hep you get much much better rest. Since you are off work now, take some walks and stretch afterwards. You will rest much better. Just be sure to wear good shoes, it makes a difference.

I hope you feel better!
