Finally I get to turn on the laptop, the last 2 weeks have just flown by and my little boy has changed so much!
I had to be induced in the end as the little bugger just didn't want to come out so on Monday 8th Oct I went into hospital being 9 days overdue and was induced in the evening and contractions started about 9pm and continued all night and I was quite happy thinking 'here we go!' but then by 7 the next morning they had blooming stopped Paul then turned up and I was given another induction and contractions started again and I don't think he really knew what to make of the whole thing! Felt a bit sorry for him really, he looked confused, shocked and excited all at the same time! Contractions lasted all day and then Paul had to go home and leave me in the ward as I was told I wasn't to have another induction until the next day so by this point I was pretty grumpy having all these contractions and baby not actually moving his lazy ass
About an hour after Paul left the contractions were really hurting and I asked for something to help me sleep and was examined and was 2cm dialated - at flipping last!!! So off the mw went to get me some pethadine but in the meantime I stood up and thought I had wet myself so stood there half naked in a puddle not really sure what to do! Mw came back with the drugs, examined me again and said 'no time for the drugs, we need to get you in a delivery suite So that was it, I was crying, wanting them to call Paul, I stripped off all my clothes (and there I was worrying I didn't want to be naked ) climbed onto a wheelchair and was off! Paul turned up in record time to find me on all fours, bum in the air moaning my hair was in my face and the last time he saw me I was watching eastenders, eating my pick a mix moaning I was bored of all the contractions!
Anyways, several hours later, baby was still not making an appearance, I was trying all sorts of positions and pushing till it felt like my insides were falling out but he had got his head stuck! Suddenly another mw appeared and managed to get me on my back to have a look and called a doctor. Baby's heartbeat had started to drop quite badly and he needed to get out NOW. The doctor then tried the ventouse which didn't work and said it looks like we are going to need to perform a c section as baby is in danger. I didn't really have any concept of what they were saying but Paul did and it really upset him and made him panic. The mw then convinced me to take some gas and air as I had avoided it up until this point and I am so glad she did as it distracted me from what was really going on. Baby didn't have time to wait for a section so he was dragged out using forceps. I was cut and he really was forced out bless him and to be honest I don't really remember that much other than it really hurting and me swearing a lot
Next thing I know a baby is lying on my chest! Then he gets whipped away for oxygen and a little bit of help and then he was given to Paul as i was in a bit of shock and was shaking so much and was still in stirrups (nice!!)
Henry was born 1:40am Wednesday 10th October weighing 9lbs looking battered and smashed up and 11 days overdue!
So everything I didn't want I had to have! But I really dont care, he is perfect He is so alert and bright and funny and so beautiful! Can't quite believe he is mine!
A few piccies for you
Funny thing is he looks so different already!
I love him!!!!
Thank you so much to Maria and Fee for letting everyone know and thank you for all the messages xxxxxx
