Morning sickness has been ok on and off but mostly feel sick and haven't been sick. Headaches however have been making my life hell this week and now they've developed into migranes with the auras (fuzzy blurring of your vision for about an hour). I've been susceptible to them in the past but they have been making me feel so ill :( my mw said take paracetamol which is ok for the headaches but a migrane doesn't get touched by paracetamol. my mw also said under no circumstances can I take my old migrane medication and to go and sit/lay down in a dark room. Unfortunately with work that's not possible and on thurs I had to go home.

Has anybody else had this or know if it might ease up after tri 1?

Doob try those cooling pads you put on your forehead. Xx

Yup I've had headaches an migraines in the first trimester of every pregnancy, just started yesterday in this one, it's due to the progesterone dilating blood vessels sometimes and a frozen bag of peas helps with some of the pain (although doesn't make you able to function well) it constructs the blood vessels somewhat though, if you till have them in the third trimester they need checking out as can be a sign of pre-eclampsia and raised BP. Bananas also help a little bit (again not enough) keep hydrated and hopefully they WILL ease in tri 2 as mine always have... Good luck and sympathies!!!

Hiya,

Week before last I had the most awful headaches for a solid week, I get migraines too when I am not pregnant, I was so sick with it and also had flashing lights and the rainbow type vision..

Mine have eased off now thank god, I know from my last pregnancy that the headaches are normal

They are only a sign of pre-eclampsia in tri 3 so don't worry about that yet, just keep am eye on it. Drink lots of water and take paracetamol if it gets too bad. Also try and link to anything you might be eating, I had really bad headaches and with me in tri 1 it was cheese that caused them! Xx

Thanks for the replies everybody. I saw the mw on Wednesday and she said paracetamol was my only real option but didn't seem overly concerned about anything more serious. I think I might book in to see the gp who helped me with a bout of migraines I had last year because when they kick in it makes work a real struggle.
