Have you tried Freecycle?

I don't know if there has been a thread about this but just wondered if anyone used it or was aware of it.

If you don't know its a group ran through yahoo i think most areas of the country have a section but people offer things for free or you can ask for something too.

I asked for a moses basket and cot yesterday and i am having a lovely lady drop off both a cot and moses basket tonight for absolutely nothing! Now that is a bargain!

i think if you google freecycle you will find your local one, you have to get a yahoo mail account too i think, but its worth a go, loads of people get rid of baby stuff including the big stuff like prams and cots

I haven't used it before, but I've heard some good things about it from some of the members on here who have given things away and received things using Freecycle

we use it all he time
heres some of the bits we have had via freecycle:
2 gorgeous old oak wardrobes
sofa bed
chest of drawers
lovel mamas and papas wooden changing unit
brand new un-used steriliser
nappy stacker
baby bath
chestnut roasting pan
thats just a few bits!

also really good way of getting rid of stuff we no longer need but is still usable- rather than it just ending up in landfill

i am such a freecycle fan!!!!!!

some locality groups are better than others but my one seems great!

I use freecycle, so far I've gotten a baby walker, nappy wrapper, pram and a sterilizer! *woop*

Freecycle is great I have got clothes, toys etc from it.
and it is great for de clutttering your house too!
i dont have a yahoo mail account it comes through on my bt account.

I use freecycle too and have done for ages, we were renovating our house and got rid of loads of what we thought of as junk, also got ourselves a new back door, brand new blinds for 3rooms and some furniture.


Now for bubba we've got a moses basket, maternity clothes, nappy bin, unopened breast pump in its original box still sealed, baby blankets, some clothes and a bouncer Its great, I love it!!

Well the cot and moses basket arrived tonight and they are lovely! Cot is practically brand new to be honest! Moses basket is nice too, everything was nice and clean and it even came with a stand!
