Have to fight for an early section-- advice needed pls !

Hi im suzanne im new on here !
Im expecting my 3rd child -A BOY! This will also be my 3rd c section as i have had 2 emergency before. With my first i went into labour at 38 weeks and because of failure to progress was taken to theatre with my 2nd i went into labour at 37 wks and was rushed to theatre again!

Now im due a third at the end of april i have spoken to my midwife and she agrees that i should ask the consultant to set my date early 37 wks to avoid me going into spontanious labour ande risking my scar rupturing.

I have no idea what to say in the appointment pls help

Hi Suzanne, welcome to PF

I would say that you have been advised by your MW to have a section at 37 weeks, and as your baby will be term by then and you're worried about your health you agree.

Do you think the doc will say no for any reason?

Im not sure they just seemed so reluctant at the 20 wk appointment its like unless im paying for it i cant have it lol!!
He kept refering to the fact that i got all the way to the pushing stage with my first that it would be safe to leave me to 39 wks!

with my 2nd i went into labour at 37 wks just after recieving my date !! and had been in labour from 8pm to 2am and was 6 cm dilated when i got to hospital!!! plus my waters broke they even said "oh we wont leave you till morning then" i was like HELLO!!!

They seem so blaise about the whole thing i dont want to be just a number again !!

I would have thought that they wouldn't want to do a elective C-Section before 37 weeks due to complications to the baby. Perhaps you could have it the day you turn 37 weeks.

I have an elective at 37 plus 5 instead of 38 due to the day of the week the hospital did sections, but it does varie, and you do have a good history of early labour

Thanks for your replies, i understand that they will not do a c section before 37 wks but i would like it to happen at leat befor 38 weeks --- will keep you all posted xx
