More commonly known as Yule. :) Its the origin of xmas trees, Santa claus, and yule logs.. :) Longest day of the year... when ancient people celebrated the return of the sun to the earth... it is a very significant celebration.

Oooo Me.. !!! 11 years ago...

I passed my driving test on the 20th and drove all the way to Stonehenge with some friends that night for the celebrations.. :)

Happy Solstice.....I thought it was the shortest day?? I only say that cos the longest day is 21st june, which is my step mom's birthday, so she gets a longer 'day' then everyone else on their birthdays (unless you share a birthday with her  )

It is the shortest day, but then the days start getting longer again :D

Stonehenge....no ive never been and never will....its supposed to be a peaceful and meaningful ritual but I know many pagans who refuse to go now as its ruined by the noise and too many people who have just gone for a "rave" when thats absolutely nothing to do with what its about :shakehead:

I had my own little private yule ritual yesterday :D
